We are introduced to the impacts of colonisation on Indigenous Peoples and concepts pertaining to diversity and inclusion, including the importance of ethnic identities. In addition, the chapter explores the key differences in terminology used to describe sex, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity. Multiple minoritised identities are highlighted as intersectional sources of oppression and privilege.
