Rebekah Modrak<\/strong> is an artist whose work explores, honors, and parodies aspects of existing works of art. Her recreations incorpate implausible elements into the main event. She often uses eBay as a venue to consider shared concerns between art + commerce, each involving questins of labor, production, and distribution. She is an Associate Professor in the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan where she teaches courses involving photography, perception, animation, mixed media, and photographic history. This program focuses on creative skills that are common to all practices rather than emphasizing disciplinary distinctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bill Anthes<\/strong> is Associate Professor of Art History at Pitzer College, where he focuses on contemporary art in terms of cross-cultural exchanges and multimedia practice. He has received awards from the Georgia O\u2019Keeffe Museum Research Center, the Center for the Arts in Society at Carnegie Mellon University, the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, and the Creative Capital\/Warhol Foundation Art Writers Grant Program. His first book, Native Moderns: American Indian Painting, 1940-1960<\/em>, was published by Duke University Press in 2006. He is currently writing the first monograph on the career of the Cheyenne-Arapaho contemporary artist Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
